• Inflation Rises in Saudi Arabia

    The cost of living "inflation" for the month of June, 2012 rose significantly to 4.9 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year due to the increase  witnessed in seven product groups of the main index in Saudi Arabia.
    According to the Department of Statistics and information yesterday, that the cost of renovation, rent, fuel and water increased to 8.8 per cent, a range of goods and other services rose to 5.1 per cent,  beverages rose to 4.7 per cent, education and recreation increased to 3.4 percent, furnishing domestic exports rose to 3 per cent, fabrics,  clothing and footwear rose to 2.9 per cent, transport and communications increased to 1.7 per cent.
    The index of cost of living in June last year hit 140.8 points from 140.5 points for the month of May 2012 and reflected the rise in the index for month of last June increasing slightly by 0.2 per cent compared to last month.
